A man ran up to Jesus and fell to his knees, "good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?" Jesus smiles at the man and simply tells him he needs to keep all the commandments. The man claims he has followed them all since he was a boy. Jesus is very pleased with this man, so he tells him to go back home and sell all of his belongings and come follow him. (What we don't know is that this man was very wealthy.) Jesus promises him many treasures in heaven. The man turns away sad, and walks away from him.
Jesus says to his disciples, "how hard it is for the rich to enter God's kingdom."
Is it difficult for you to leave your belongings and follow Jesus if asked? To be honest if you would have asked me this question a few years ago I probably would have answered yes. I couldn't do it. Things have changed for me. I have been on the other side. Everything had been taken from me, and not by choice. It was bittersweet, but then I learned it all was just materials. What I still had was what truly mattered, and no one can take that from me. My faith and true love for Jesus. So now, if you ask me if I would leave all of my belongings behind and follow him? Without a doubt! I hope you do the same.
Stay Safe, remember Jesus loves You!
